Focus on The Cause
It's easy to let happen. You start a non profit and it takes off, you start to excel. You're helping the community and things are going great. The funding is falling into place. We are turning heads and infiltrating conversations. You are the talk of the town, and it feels great. BUT...all of a sudden everything is being watered down, sifted through, corners are being cut. Now the benefits you had for the community is not the same. You're not the same.
This is happening to a lot of nonprofits. I'm not judging, I just want to be crystal clear in the matter of accountability. Taking accountability as an organization says a lot when it needs to. If an organization is there for restoration, restore, don't skim off of your funds for yourself and short change the people you are trying to help. What's done in the dark always comes to the light. As a disciple of an organization of help, I always felt there should be some sort of moral code followed, but because of the state of the world we live in, we will come up against people that are just corrupt and in it for themselves. Not to be one sided either because we are a Christian organization, but because of passion, love, and a deep sense of community help that can always be copied and manufactured but will never match the real genuine feel of longevity in a community. Non profits are far and between, you have to be sure to choose the correct one to sow into.
That's when individual action and accountability takes control. I have had to be accountable for knowing an organization was not operating in the realms of truth, I exposed them, and I have never felt better. It's just not right to use people, and misuse funds that were both put in place to be a help to the organization. As a partaker in any organization, take the time to research the organization you're going to donate to, or sponsors with. When you take tours of the facility, ask questions to the residents, the staff, make sure to get an all around account of the full experience.
Any donors, sponsors, and anyone contributing to Pink Heaven Community Haven organization will definitely get the real when it comes to being a part of a true, made for people, organization. All contributors to non profits, please thoroughly research your choice. It will make you feel better in the long run and help in reality for that organization.
